Ten Beer Brewing Supplies Tips to Make Brewing Easy (and successful!)

Tip #1- It is very important to have clean beer brewing equipment. It sounds simple enough; however, most people do not take this seriously. You will be dealing with a lot of bacteria and wild yeast, so regular maintenance of the beer brewing environment will limit any contamination, and therefore mean better tasting home brew beer. Maintain your beer brewing supplies!!

Tip #2 – Carefully sterilize your beer making kits and equipment. An unclean environment will destroy your beer’s taste which defeats the whole purpose of home beer brewing.

Tip #3 - You don’t want your guests to be knocked out from one sip of your beer, you want them to love it! If you find that your beer contains too much alcohol, reduce the amount of sugar that you typically add.

Tip #4 – Normal room temperature is typically the best temperature for beer fermentation.

Tip #5 – To get the best tasting beer; store the secured bottled beer in a dry, cool room for 2 weeks. Taste the beer until it is right for you, if it’s not; leave it for a longer period of time.

Tip #6 – If the flavor of the beer does not taste the way you would like it, it might also be idea to add a malt extract in place of half the amount of sugar that you’ve been using. This will increase the tastiness of the beer.

Tip #7 – A premium method to improve taste is to replace sugar altogether and add pure glucose instead.

Tip #8 – To ensure your brewing environment is at its peak, use chlorinated bleach for sterilization and cleaning purposes.

Tip #9 – Once the hydrometer meets the correct gravity level, quickly bottle the beer.

Tip #10 – Home beer brewing requires the perfect consistent temperature between 66.2- 71.6 degrees Fahrenheit. Use your beer brewing supplies to ensure that this temperature is in fact stable.
